These are door muffs. These are perfect for those of you who have a habit of slamming doors, who have kids who slam doors, or if you are just one of those people that has to make something every day!

I want to give a big thank you to Melissa Esplin of Make and Takes for letting me use her photograph in the post!

What's in My Travel Makeup Bag?

Hi all! Today I am coming to you from my grandparents house. I packed a makeup bag for a short trip up here, and I decided to blog. Let's get started!

The first thing I have is my NutriMin Re9 Travel Kit. I brought with me the Restoring Mist Balancing Toner and the Repair Corrective Ete Creme. Even though this is more geared towards people who want anti- aging products, this does wonders for my skin. I also brought my Icing bright face Fabulously Flawless face primer.

Next I have my face products. I brought two foundations. One is for a light coverage and is the Covergirl Natureluxe foundation in the shade 310 Flax. I also brought a medium coverage foundation by Mary Kay in 304 Beige. For concealer I have my Physicians Formula Physicians Strength concealer in Natural Light. To set that I have my Physicians Formula Healthy Wear Powder in Natural Beige.

For my cheeks I have brought my Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in the shade Pink Plum. What I like about this blush is the natural flush it gives your cheeks.

For my eyes I brought my Neutrogena Nourishing Eye Quad in Butter Creme. I am only going to be using the light shade though. Also, I brought my Benefit Erase Paste Concealer. I don't like it as a concealer, but I do like it as a base for eyeshadow, as well as my e.l.f eyelid primer. Lastly, I brought my Maybelline Define-a-line eyeliner in Brownish Black and my CoverGirl lashblast fusion waterproof mascara in black.

As for lip products I just brought my softlips lip balm in strawberry. Yummy!

What do you keep in your makeup bag? Tell me down below!

Wanna Be On Top?

It's time for ANTM to finally be back! It's cycle 19 and the college girls are fierce. I would never be able to be on ANTM, because I can't be mean to people, and when people are mean to me...it's not good.

let me just make it clear, this photo has all the girls in it. other than that, I hate the picture.
I've been watching online. This cycle has an interesting twist because social media is now involved in the competition. Personally, I like that. We can see what people are like outside of the frame. We can see how they treat the other girls, and how their personality is.

The models of this cycle are the following:
Kiara Belen : University of California
Yvonne Powless : University of Texas (my favorite so far)
Allyssa Vuelma : Florida State University
Victoria Henley : Liberty University
Kristin Kagay : Florida State College
Leila Goldkuhl : University of Rhode Island
Nastatsia Scott : East Stroudsburg University
Laura James : Paul Smith's College
Brittany Brown : Chandler-Gilbert Community College
ELIMINATED are the following as of Week 4
Jessie Rabideau : University of Southern California - Episode 2
Darian Ellis : Louisiana State University - Episode 3
Destiny Strudwick : Aveda Institute of Columbus - Episode 4
Maria Tucker : Harvard University : Quit in Episode 3

Who are you rooting for?

Best In Beauty : Beauty Book Babbles

Hi everyone! How many times have you been in the bookstore going to get your very own copy of that popular book everyone has been talking about, and you see a picture of a dress, a makeup swatch, or the words "Lauren Conrad"? If you are like me, then you can't help yourself but take 5 minutes to go flip through it. Since I have fallen victim oh-so-many times, I want to help everyone with the best beauty books I have. I thought it would be fun to share one each month! This month's book is called "Best in Beauty" by Riku Campo.

This book has everything covered. From facial care, to bridal makeup and everything in between. Riku talks about how to tell the difference between oily skin and dry skin, and also what tools are best for certain application. He offers the best advice, and I have learned so much from him.

What beauty book do you want me to review next month?

Versatile Vaseline

Hey everyone! I promise you all I'm going to get back into blogging everyday, but I have a lot going on in my life to try and handle.

In my last post I told you all that I burnt my hand the other day. Unfortunately, I didn't know the iron was on when I grabbed it. (If anyone knows of a scar minimizer or remover, please let me know!)

We went to CVS and the pharmacist said that Vaseline was the best thing to use. He was right. The burn isn't nearly as bad as it was on Saturday morning.

But Vaseline isn't just for burns. There are so many different uses for it.

Versatile Vaseline

1. Put a coat on your eyelashes before you go to bed. Lots of people swear by this – and say it will make your lashes grow longer and thicker over time.

2. Put a coat of Vaseline on your feet at night, cover them with socks and wake up to softer feet – every day!

3. Put Vaseline on your elbows every day – they will stay soft!

4. Put Vaseline on your cuticles several times a day for softer and better looking cuticles every day.

5. Put Vaseline on chapped lips

6. Use Vaseline as lip gloss

7. Mix a little Vaseline with a little Kool-Aid powder and make a colored and flavored lip gloss!

8. Melt Vaseline and one chocolate chip in the microwave, mix and let resolidify for chocolate lip gloss!

9. Maintains perfume scent longer when applied at perfume points before spritzing the perfume.

10. Can be used as a moisturizer for acne sufferers (it is a misconception that it clogs pores)

11. Moisturizes severe dry skin

12. Use Vaseline on your knees to prevent that dry, ashy look

13. Mix with sea salts to make a scrub!

14. Applying Vaseline on your teeth prevents lips from sticking to teeth for celebrities and contestants in beauty pageants who smile a lot

15. Applied on teeth before applying lipstick prevents lipstick from sticking on them

16. Massage, baby!

17. Warmed up can be used as a night cream

18. Makeup remover

 19. Protects skin exposed to adverse weather

20. Applied under eye shadow it can create a shiny effect

21. Applied on cheeks for a dewy look

22. Can be used to smooth and soothe skin after shaving

23. Used in manicures under cuticles

24. Gets rid of dry skin lines which can arise from washing

25. Lubricates ear lobes and helps to make earring insertion easy and painless

26. Keeps fingernails pliable and resilient

27. Use with your lipstick to create a cream blusher for your cheeks

28. Helps to ease off stuck on rings

29. Tames unruly eyebrows

30. Defines eyelashes and leaves them with a glossy and waterproof look

31. Conditions scalp pre-shampooing

32. Can help prevent chaffing

33. Aids with healing after cosmetic surgery procedures

34. Reduces scaling and itching associated with dandruff

35. Theraputic when applied to lesions caused by poison ivy

36. Can help improve condition of those with atopic eczema

37. Helps heal and protect new tattoos

38. Can protect against harmful hair dyeing, perming and straightening chemicals when used as a mask around the hairline

39. Use a tiny dab to put a quick shine on your shoes and bags

40. Smear a tiny bit on your hands and scrunch through your hair for a choppy look

41. Use just a touch on the ends of your hair to hide dry and split ends

42. Remove makeup stains from clothing

43. Rub Vaseline on the neck of your nail polish bottles and they won’t get stuck to the caps

44. Make your week old nail polish look new again – rub a small dab over the polish.

45. Use a touch of Vaseline mixed with powder eyeshadow pigment to make new colors, or a more solid eyeshadow that won’t get all over your face when you put it on.

46. Stretch your favorite lotion by mixing it with Vaseline.

47. Put Vaseline on your lips, leave it a few minutes, then scrub your lips with a toothbrush to exfoliate and leave them SO smooth

48. Remove false eyelash glue from your lash line

49. Apply a small amount on dry spots on your body before fake tanning lotions are applied, and prevent uneven tanning!

50. Generously apply Vaseline all over before taking flights to combat associated dryness

Thanks to Christinaloves for these great tips!

That's it! How do you use Vaseline?

Small Fall Haul!

Hey everyone! I recently picked up a few things from the drugstore, so I decided to share them with you!

First, I burned my hand this morning. Bad. Basically, I didn't realize the iron was on when I grabbed it by the plate, and now my hand will be forever scarred. ):  My dad drove me to the local CVS, and the pharmacist said thatt Vaseline was the best thing on burns. QT (Quick Tip): If you burn any part of your body, the best thing to do is get it under cold water as soon as you can. This keeps away the burning, and let's nature bandaid start to form!

Later, we went to Dollar General to pick up a poster board because my mom comes home today! (No worries, she was just at a conference). I also picked up the Garnier Nutritioniste Nutri - Pure Cleansing Towlettes. Another QT: They are 20 cents cheaper at CVS than DG.

Lastly, I got the St. Ives Apricot Scrub. It claims to minimize pores and prevent blackheads. I tried it out for the first time, and I love the way it makes my skin feel.

If you want a review on anything, tell me down below!

Halloween Candy Corn Makeup Tutorial

Hey everyone! I am getting excited for fall, and in the fall, we have Halloween! Today I am going to show you a candy corn eye tutorial!

1. Apply a base to your eyes. You will need 3 different colors. You will need a white, an orange, and a yellow eyeshadow base. Maybelline has a nice orange one, and NYX has a white and a yellow one. Use the white on the inner third, the orange in the middle, and the yellow on the outer corner.

2. Using a white eyeshadow, apply the color to the inner third of your lid, making sure you bring it to the inner corner as well as the inner third of your lower lashline. Using an orange eyeshadow, apply this to over the orange base, as well as the middle of your lower lashline. With a yellow eyeshadow, apply it to the outer corner and outer corner of your lower lashline. Blend any harsh lines in.

3. Next, use a soft brown color in your crease. Blend it in well. Then use an orange, a yellow, and a white eye glitter or pigment over the color eyeshadow to get a sparkly effect.

4. Now use a white eyeshadow to highlight your browbone. Apply black liquid liner to the top lash line, and a black pencil liner to your waterline.

5. Take a pair of dramatic false lashes and apply them to your top lash line. Use a very black mascara to blend in your natural lashes with the false lashes.

6. Use a fan brush to sweep away any fall out!

Enjoy!

My Skin Care Routine and New Blog?

Hey everyone! Today I want to share with you all my skin care routine! I have two and I'm excited to show you!

THE FACTS:
I have Combination/Oily Skin.
My main concern is blackheads/whiteheads and the occasional pimple.

Morning Routine

1. Splash water onto my face to wake up. It sound crazy, but it helps.
2. Using the Noxzema Triple Clean Anti - Blemish pads, I scrub my face and let my pores breathe.
3. I then use the Neutrogena Rapid Clear Foaming Scrub to make my skin feel soft and smooth. It also eliminates oil in the T-Zone area.
4. Next I use Acanya, an all over the face cream. It's prescription only, but it works so well!
5. Then I use the Jergens Natural Glow FACE moisturizer.

Nightly Routine
The only thing I do differently is take of my makeup with the Burt's Bee's facial wipes before using the Noxzema pads, and then I use the Clinique Even Better Skin Tone Correcting Moisturizer.

One thing before you go, I have a new blog! I wanted to try out wordpress, so if you are interested in food..go check it out!

Vintage Tuesday : Mascara

Hey everyone! Today I want to share with you a new series called "Vintage Tuesday". If you all can think of any clever names for it, please leave them in the comments! Today we are going to be talking about "Mascara"!

Do you think you have it hard with mascara? Having to apply coat after coat? Believe it or not, but mascara used to take longer than 2 minutes, and you couldn't apply it in the car.

Look familiar? I highly doubt it! This mascara is from Maybelline back in 1917. That's almost 100 years ago!
To apply this mascara you had to wet the little brush, brush it back and forth in the mascara, and apply it to your lashes! Think about all the steps just to make your lashes look a little bit darker. I might have even skipped this step in my everyday routine if I had to do that!

What do you think of the old mascara? Would you have used it? Tell me down below!

p.s Go ask me a question for my Olivia, You Gotta Help Me series!

p.s.s. Love you!

Olivia

Directions
1. Mix the ingredients together in a mixing bowl. You can just use a spoon.
2. Using a ladle or your hands, scoop out some trail mix and put it into a plastic baggy.
3. That's it! Easy as pie. Ooh...like pumpkin pie.(:

My Belief and Religion

Hi everyone! I want to quickly say that this is about my belief and religion. If you think you will get offended by this post, please do not continue. My beliefs are very important to me and I feel like it's important that I share this part of my life with you.

I am a Christian. I was raised in a Baptist church, and at the moment I attend a non-denominational church. A non-denominational church is one that doesn't have a label. It isn't Baptist or Methodist etc. I am very involved in my church since I am homeschooled. It's my favorite place to be because I feel so welcome there.

My dad was the choir minister of the first two churches that I remember. No wonder I love music. If you have ever noticed, Christian and gospel music tends to be longer than other types of music? It's because there is a longer message. One of my favorite hymns is Amazing Grace and my favorite modern day one is My God is Not Dead by Newsboys.

I know a lot of people who say "I don't have a testimony. I came to know the Lord when I was a little kid."
Just because you were saved when you were 7 doesn't mean you have a relationship with the Lord. You can always talk to someone in your church or talk to a friend about something that you have done that you know is wrong. All you have to do is pray to God that he will forgive you and have mercy. Your testimony doesn't have to be before you "got saved."
I got saved in 2009 at VBS in case you are wondering.

If you have any more questions, please leave them down below.

TTFN,
Olivia

e.l.f Essential Makeup Brushes : Yay or Nay?

Hi everyone! Because of how the economy is right now, a lot of people are trying to save money. Especially makeup lovers. Places like Sephora can get pretty expensive if you aren't careful.
One key to makeup is makeup brushes. The application can be completely different depending on which brush you use. Today I am going to talk about e.l.f  Essential Makeup Brushes : Yay or Nay?

If you are like me, you can stick to a few makeup brushes and be happy, and when I heard you could get these brushes for only a dollar each, I did my happy dance! (It's too hard to describe. You have to see it in person!)

So, let's start with the questions:
What is it?
What is the price?
Is the packaging good or bad?
Does it meet up to it's claims?
Is it worth the hype?
What is it?
e.l.f brushes are makeup brushes. Makeup brushes help you apply your makeup better. (good)
What is the price?
The price for a single brush is only $1. (good)
Is the packaging good or bag?
The packaging is basically like a sandwich bag, but better. The actual brush isn't that great though. The glue isn't on there very well because my brush kept wiggling around in the handle. (bad)
Does it meet up to it's claims?
e.l.f. claims that these are the perfect brushes to give you a flawless look. All it did was scratch my face. (bad)
Is it worth the hype?
This question is hard. I think that these are great for begginers, but if you are just wanting to try them out, I would skip them.
What are your favorite makeup brushes? Tell me down below!
TTFN,
Olivia
