Review and Swatches : Naked 2 Palette

Happy weekend everybody! I know most of you only have a few days left of your break, so I wish you a great second semester!

On to today's blog topic.. I got the Naked 2 Palette for Christmas and I could not be happier. The colors are great and there are man different looks you can create.

The first thing is the packaging. It is a plastic metal tin and has two closures that snap together.

The creaminess of these shadows are superb. They are soft and extremely pigmented.

The palette also comes with a double sided brush. They are synthetic fibers . One side is a flat shader brush, and the other side is a tapered blending brush that I love!

Here are some photos and swatches!

Hey guys! Today I wanted to share my outfit with you all. Me, my sister, and our friend went to go see Les Miserables (pronounced lay mis), and this is what I wore. I wore jeans from American Eagle, boots from Rack Room Shoes, a taupe shirt with diamond shaped, gold sequins, and a scarf from Maurice's. I did my nails:) I am very happy with them. If you want a tutorial on them, let me know in the comments.

What is your favorite part of the outfit?

Actually, that's my alter- ego. You know, the whole Hannah Montana thing? Anyways, today I wanted to create a tag. I like making tags, but I never do too well at making them. But today, I caught up on a lot of Disney classics, so this tag is going to be a little different. You are going to answer the questions, and then you will determine what Princess you are!

                      A. Red
                      B. Blonde
                      C. Black
                      D. Brown

Question 2 :  Would you rather have a _____ as a pet?
                     A. Fish
                     B. Mouse
                     C. Deer
                     D. Horse

Question 3 : What do you do in your spare time?
                     A. Add to my collection
                     B. Clean up after your siblings
                     C. Clean up after your parents.

Question 4: How do you like to spend time with your true love?
                    A. Boat Riding?
                    B. Dancing?
                    C. Singing?

Emi - Jay Hair Ties : A Review

Happy Saturday! Just 24 days till Christmas! ...and just 10 days till my birthday! I'm going to be 14! (no biggie, wink-wink Meghan! (:  )

I have really been wanting to try the new hair ties from Brandy Melville, but unfortunately I don't live in New York or California and I'm not a huge fan of ordering online, so when I found these in Kinnucan's, I was really excited!

These are hair ties that do not dent your hair or tear them. I got them in the Pearl Collection, and they were $12. Each pack comes with 5 ties.

The material is a stretchy fabric that is dip dyed and tied in a knot.
As you can see on the back of this, it says to not get them wet, so make sure you don't wear them in the shower or the pool.

Here are the five ties:

The colors are brown, gray, skin tone, cream, and a very light pink.
Here are some examples of how you can wear these ties.

You can wear them on your wrist like a bracelet...

Or you can wear it in your hair ( I apologize for my disgusting hair!)

I know it is sideways, but Emily and Julianne, the head honchos of Emi - Jay, leave us a little note telling us about the company. It says
"Armed with a dream and inspired by their passion for fashion, Emily and Julianne are two teenagers united by a desire to create quality modern hair ties. These two young entrepreneurs now run an exciting dynamic business alongside their mothers. Emi-Jay beleives that everyone deserves a little luxury and comfort in their lives. Enjoy! xo Emi + Jay."

I really love the personal touch that they give and the great quality of these hair ties!

You can find a store near you to purchase these hair ties online at their site.
You can also follow them @EmiJayInc

Don't forget to follow me @oliviasblog on twitter!

*Emi-Jay did not pay send me these hair ties.

Christmas Wish List Ideas!

Every week I am going to be sharing with you all a Christmas wish list idea for every kind of person. The fashionista, the beauty guru, the hair junkie, the tomboy, and even some gift ideas for family members and boyfriends! Today, I am going to tell you five gift ideas for your friends!

So let's say you have 5 friends and they all are coming to your Christmas party. Do you get 5 different gifts, or be money savvy this year.

My favorite idea is to take three different gift sets, some candy, and some sanitizers. and make five equal but different gifts!

1. ULTA Liquid Eyeliner Set
$10

This set has 5 mini glitter eyeliners. A black one, a gold one, an orange-ish one, a green one, and an oxblood red one. You can take one and place it according to eye color!

2. benefit High Flyin' Gloss Set
$26
Benefit Cosmetics - High Flyin’ Glosses
This set has 6 glosses. You can keep one for yourself!

3. This last set is a combination set. Actually, it's two. It is two benefit sets. The Coral my World and Tan About Town set available at Sephora. They are both 12 dollars. The Coral My World comes with a small sun beam and Coralista blush. The Tan About Town set contains a mini Hoola bronzer, a badgal last mini mascara, and a mini Some-kind-a Gorgeous in medium.

4. Next, using the five for five deal from Bath and Body Works, pick up 5 sanitizers. I recommend Fresh Market Apple, Caribbean Escape, Cookie Dough, Vanilla Bean Noel, and Iced Ginger Bread. You can also get holders.

5. Lastly, I like to put some candy in there. If you are shipping out presents though, I suggest going to dollar general and getting 5 L.A. Colors Nail Polishes. They are only a dollar each and have great payoff!

I love you all, Merry Christmas!

D.I.Y Christmas Smize! Project 1!

Hello everyone! Welcome to my new series, D.I.Y Christmas Smize!* This is project 1. Let's kick on Jingle Bells, and haul out some holly!

The project today is very simple, but the other ones are going to be a little more difficult and then as we count down to Christmas, they will get simpler for you last minute gifters.
Monogrammed mug...another dollar store project...cute Christmas presents!                                                                                                                                                                                           Who doesn't like a good coffee mug? And let's be honest, these are the best gifts to give during the cold season. It reminds them that it's time to poor the hot chocolate, or get you some coffee!

All you have to do is get a plain coffee mug ( you can find one here ), a ribbon of your color preference, some stencils ( you can find some super cute ones here ) and some paint with a paint brush.

This is pretty self explanatory, but you want to take the stencil and place it on the mug. ( You can either put their initials, their name, or you can write a funny nickname!) Next, take your paint and paint over it.

After you have let the paint dry, ( I suggest doing this overnight) take your ribbon, wrap it around the top of the mug, and leave about 4 inches off. Cut it, tie it, and then glue the back of the bow onto the mug. After that, snip off the edges, and voila! The best Christmas present! You can even make these with a school name or a heart or something, and sell them and make some Christmas money!

Enjoy!

P.S. Tomorrow, I will posting on my second blog, The King's Daughter on how to Rejoice in the Midst of Suffering. I'm pretty excited about it, and I think you will be to!

Until next time, this has been Olivia, coming to you (not) live from her living room! Happy d.i.y-ing!

* To smile with your eyes!

Drink Lots of Liquids..

A saying that I never really understood was the saying "drink lots of liquids". It's a time of the year where sneezing and coughing is just like breathing. We are all used to it and if we didn't do it, we would be dead. So the doctor tells us "drink lots of liquids!"

But isn't that sort of a ridiculous statement?

What else am I going to drink?

AIR?

No, I'm going to drink liquids.

Not a gas.

Liquids.

So maybe we should tell the doctors that we promise to drink only liquids, as the human body can not physically drink anything else.

Hello all, I am Samantha and I blog over at 3-Oh-1 Grace St..... both physically (aka: that's my address) and in domain name! ha! Anyways, the lovely Olivia asked me to do a blog post while she was gone. And she wanted it to be about fashion or makeup! So I will give me my sparse but best advice I have....which is about skincare!

So what I do twice a day.... Cleanser.

I have been a fan of Eminence now for two or three years! My friend introduced me to the Organic product and when do research for this post I found out a lot of famous people use it too!

I also use a masque!

I use the strawberry rhubarb because it is a good moisturizer. I apply twice a week before bed.

And because I inherited my mom's dark under eye circles I use ...

It's Potent eye care. I just started using this but so far so good!

Other things I try to do...always, always apply sunscreen and moisturize A LOT! That's what prevents wrinkles right?!

Thanks for letting share with you today!

I Love Drugstore Makeup Tag

Hey! As you all know, I am a true lover of Drugstore products like many of us are. I saw this tag on youtube and figured I would bring it to the blog world!

Questions
1. What is your favorite drugstore makeup brand?
My favorite drugstore makeup brand is probably Maybelline because they have the best mascaras. I also love e.l.f. because of the great prices and quality.

2. What are your favorite face, cheek and lip products?
My favorite face product is the Physicians Formula Healthy Wear Powder that I talk about a lot on my blog. It gives great coverage. My favorite cheek product is my e.l.f Contouring Blush and Bronzer Duo. My favorite lip product at the moment is my Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm in Peach Kiss. (I have a review on this coming up.)

3. Least favorite product?
My least favorite face product is the Maybelline Fit Me Powder. It makes me look very cakey. I don't like the Maybelline dream bouncy blush in Orchid Hush. I like the others, just not that one. My least favorite lip product is the Wet n' Wild Lipsticks. They are over drying.

4. What is the best makeup bargain?
The best makeup bargain is the Wet n' Wild eyeshadows. The quality is amazing and a trio is only 3 dollars! I have a review on the Walking on Eggshells Trio if you would like to go look at it.

5. What is your favorite underdog product?
(Something you love that often gets overlooked?) The softlips lip balm. I don't  think it gets mentioned enough, even though its one of the best lip balms I've tried.

6. A drugstore product that is overpriced?
I think that the Covergirl Natureluxe is way overpriced. I ran out in one month. I only used it about 10 times.

7. Show your best drugstore dupe(s)!!
I don't really have any dupes that I found all by myself, but I do know of one that is for three MAC eyeshadows in naked lunch, shroom, and cork, and that is the Wet n' Wild trio in Walking on Eggshells.

8. Drugstore product that isn't worth the hype?
I don't think the Revlon Lip Butters are all that great, and they are expensive for a lip balm with a tint.

QUESTIONS:
1.What is your favorite drugstore brand?
2.What are your favorite face, cheek, and lip products?
3. Least favorite?
4.What is the best makeup bargain?
5.What is your favorite underdog product? (SOMETHING THAT OFTEN GETS OVERLOOKED)?
6.A drugstore product that is overpriced?
7. Show your best drugstore dupes.
8. Drugstore product that isn't worth the hype?

I'm Going Blonde ... er.

Hello everyone. I have decided for my birthday, December 11, I am going to get my hair dyed. I am already blonde, but it is "dishwater blonde" as my mother used to say.

When you have this haircolor, it looks dirty and oily the day after you wash it. Most days I will wash it and 5 hours later it will start to get oily.

I have some pictures of celebrities hair colors and I really like it. I also think I'm might go brunette. Tell me what you think. I need help. I will be asking people on twitter as well.

This is what my hair used to look like.

That's my dad  and sister in the background...I don't know the other guy.

Oh, and also, I was sunburned, had bangs, my hair was braided, and I had just gotten braces. I
 was in 4th grade.

This is what my hair looks like now >>>>>>>>>
I hate it. It is sort of a Taylor Swift color and I absolutely despise it.

These are the hair colors I am picking from. In case you are wondering, I have green eyes, light to medium to skin, and my veins are sea green (that has something to do with undertones. I'm not sure what though.)

                      1                                                                                                              2

or brunette. I love Sarah Hyland's hair color in this picture.

Which hair color should I go with?

Five Bad Beauty Habits You Probably Didn't Know About

I know we all try to wash our face every day and walk a little, but some of these habits you probably never even thought about.

1. Water. Lots of it. You need to drink a lot of water not only because it is good for you body, it is also good for clearing up your skin. Remember, water is the best medicine. Other than laughter. Laughter is pretty good too.

2. Dirty Makeup Brushes. Let's be honest, how many of us actually wash our makeup brushes after every use? You should because if you don't, you are just applying the dirt, oil, and bacteria back on your face which will cause breakouts. Find out how I wash my brushes here .

3. Hair Brushes. This is something I didn't even think about until Kandee Johnson talked about it. I usually just pick the hair out of my hair brushes with my fingers, but you should really be cleaning them. Find out how in the video to the left.

4. Eye Makeup. How many times have you seen a little bit of mascara left on your lashes? It's just a little. Haha, no. You need to remove it completely because if you don't, it can cause styes. They can take MONTHS to clear up.

5. Razor Blades. You should change your razor blades often. After a while the blade wears out and it won't be as sharp or clean, so make sure you change it at least once a month.

What's your worst beauty habit? Let me know in the comments!

NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams

NYX Soft matte Lip Creams

Hey everyone! Welcome back to Color Coordinated! Today I want to share a great value set from Urban Outfitters from NYX. It is three of the infamous soft matte lip creams!

NYX cosmetics is known for these lip creams. They are "not a lipstick nor a gloss. It is something you have never experienced before."

The three colors in this set are Antwerp, Tokyo, and Addis Ababa. Antwerp is an orange toned pink. Tokyo is a light baby pink, and Addis Ababa is a bright fuchsia.

If you were to buy these individually, it would cost $18, but this set is only $12. You basically get one free.

In each tube there is a dough foot applicator and .69 oz.

Reviews on the NYX website say :

"Love this product. Lasts long and not dry like other long lasting lipsticks."

" This stuff is awesome! They just need more colors!"

This is a great product, and my personal opinion is that it is a great value for only $12. This would be perfect for your Christmas Wish List!

What is your favorite NYX product? Which one do you want to try out? Tell me in the comments!

OPI Nail Polish Week : Day 2

Hey everyone! It's Tuesday, Tuesday, gotta do a hop on Tuesday! Today's OPI Nail Polish color is Funky Dunkey. It is a deep royal purple color. Imagine Massie Block's room, and that is the color.

Like most of the OPI Nail Polishes, this polish goes on opaque, but streaky. It's very clumpy and it takes an hour for it to dry completely or else it is gooey to the touch.

I think it is a great color, but the quality isn't that great.

What is your favorite purple nail polish?
